Flowers are gifts from nature and are my go to nervous system regulators.
The colors and smells ground me.
An 11 year old client asked me yesterday what are MY top 5 practices when I feel chaotic. I smiled . . . my clients know me well. 🤩
I choose to live in a state of FREEDOM, EASE, JOY, & LOVE, but sometimes my sneaky brain allows unwanted narratives to swirl and my thoughts can take me out of my desired state of being.
Removing the mask and having honest and open communication is the only way WE CAN AND WILL support today's youth in expressing their feelings, understanding their emotions, and most importantly, courageously making a safe choice to move them into the state of being they want to live in. Of course, nothing is permanent, which is why regulating our nervous system is imperative!
3 Quick Nervous System Regulators:
🌺GET OUTSIDE IN NATURE! Breathing in fresh oxygen and release heavy energy in our body creates an immediate shift for you and all within your environment.
🕺🏽SHAKE YOUR BODY! Move your ENTIRE body~ shimmy, jump, swirl all at once as HARD as you can! *Pause, close your eyes, breathe in slowly, and check in with your internal systems. If more movement is needed, REPEAT until YOU (or your child) are calm, able to refocus, and communicate what and how you (they) are feeling.
🍪Smell spices, baked goods, flowers, or anything that brings you back into the state of being YOU want to live in at all times. Curiously investigate how the smells pull you out of low spaces.
